Spitex Benchmark
Our benchmarking platform ensures comparability and transparency in the home care (Spitex) sector.
More clarity, better decisions
The benchmark provides well-founded data for needs-based care, supports operational management with intuitive key performance indicators, and strengthens your negotiating position with social insurance providers and financing partners through increased cost transparency.
Scientifically grounded, developed with practical relevance
The platform was developed as part of an Innosuisse project in collaboration with Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Heyde AG, and industry partners. Introduced in 2023, by 2026 it already serves more than 70 organizations from 12 cantons.
Standardized data, reliable comparisons
Data recorded in a harmonized way is securely transmitted to Polynomics by the Spitex’ cost accounting (KoRe) provider without any additional effort. Combined with public sources, this results in meaningful, anonymized key figures on costs, services, staff, and clients. This creates the foundation for well-informed, cross-organizational comparisons.
Clear rules, safeguarded data sovereignty
Clear contractual agreements define the scope, use, and analysis of the data. The anonymity of the participating Spitex organizations is ensured at all times. Upon request, your own key figures can be selectively shared with the respective cantonal association or with chosen participants. Access is provided via Polynomics’ secure web portal.
Added value for Spitex organizations
The Spitex benchmark combines a standardized data foundation with in-depth analyses. Participation is open to organizations of all sizes and governance structures and allows for a customizable level of anonymity. This results in hands-on evaluations and insights that help you position your organization, develop it in a targeted way, and make well-informed decisions.
For organizations using Heyde KoRe, there is no additional effort required for data collection and transmission. We are currently working on integrating further cost accounting (KoRe) providers into our benchmark.
Well-founded comparison of key figures with individual insights
Transparent positioning of your own standing within the industry benchmark – including group-specific analyses and the option to selectively lift your anonymity for chosen participants. The analyses provide a starting point for process improvement and support a well-founded, objective discussion on the financing of Spitex services.
Statistical analyses of costs and structures
Personnel expenses are the central cost component of Spitex organizations. Our analyses make transparent how differences in wage levels and productivity impact costs. This makes key cost drivers visible—and creates helpful starting points for greater efficiency and improved management.
Special analysis on a focus topic
Each year, we take an in-depth look at a specific current issue. Each focus topic is defined jointly with an advisory group consisting of organizations and associations. Examples from the past include cost differences between somatic and psychiatric care as well as the skill-grade mix. In 2026, the focus is on training.
Multiple updates throughout the year
The initial publication of the benchmarking analysis happens each spring and is continuously updated with new data. In the summer, more in-depth analyses for the completed data year follow, along with the evaluation of the focus topic. Access is provided through our interactive web application.
